Waynesboro Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

   Michael James Waters, age 36, of Waynesboro was arrested on Tuesday, January 28^th on multiple drug-related charges. Deputy Tyler Sanderson filed a report stating that he performed a traffic stop on the vehicle in which Waters was a passenger for a muffler not working properly. Deputy Sanderson stated that both Waters and the driver of the vehicle were allegedly acting “extremely nervous.” Deputy Sanderson then released K-9 Buddy to perform an exterior scan of the vehicle. The K-9 allegedly alerted to the driver’s side door. Officers then performed a search of the interior of the vehicle, locating approximately 10.6 grams of methamphetamine packaged in multiple plastic baggies; approximately 0.7 grams of a powdery substance that Waters allegedly identified as Suboxone; approximately 5.5 grams of marijuana; and a glass pipe commonly used for smoking meth. Waters allegedly admitted to officers that everything found during the search belonged to him. He was arrested on charges of manufacture/deliver/sell/possess methamphetamine, possession of schedule II Suboxone with intent to manufacture/deliver/sell, simple possession of schedule VI, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Waters was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $162,500.00 bond.
