Mitchell Lee Askew Arrested on 2023 Attempted Murder Charge

Mitchell Lee Todd Askew, age 20, of Florence, AL, was arrested on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, on charges related to an incident that took place on Thursday, May 25, 2023. According to the warrants filed by Investigator Dusty Malugen, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Kilburn Hollow Road on that date on a report of a shooting. The shooting victim, Dale Tubberville, along with a witness, allegedly identified Askew as the shooter. Statements indicated that Askew allegedly shot Tubberville intentionally during an attempted robbery. When Askew was ultimately arrested, he was charged with attempted first degree murder and especially aggravated robbery. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail with no bond.
