Michael Dewayne Reeves, age 38, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Sunday, March 24, 2024, on charges of public intoxication, manufacture/delivery/sale/possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with or fabricating evidence. Deputy Michael Scott filed a report stating that on March 24 at approximately 9:51 p.m., he stopped at a residence on Cantrell Lane near Waynesboro while on normal patrol. The report stated that Reeves, who was at the residence, was allegedly yelling profanities at Deputy Scott, and there was allegedly an unprohibited fire near the residence. Deputy Scott stopped and asked Reeves why he was yelling profanities and asked if he had a burn permit. Reeves allegedly said that he did not have a burn permit, and he did put the fire out as Deputy Scott instructed. Deputy Scott went on to report that Reeves was allegedly very rigid and tense and was speaking incoherently. Reeves allegedly admitted to smoking meth prior to the encounter with police. After Reeves was transported to the Wayne County Jail, he was searched, and was allegedly found to be in possession of a glass pipe containing meth residue, a small torch lighter, and a small baggie containing methamphetamine. Reeves was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $136,000.00 bond.
