Waynesboro Man Arrested for Assault and Aggravated Burglary

   Willard Joseph Jones, age 35, of Waynesboro was arrested on Friday, March 6^th on charges of assault and aggravated burglary. Sgt. Tyler Sanderson of the Waynesboro Police Department filed a report after taking a statement from the alleged victim, Austin Cody Finley. Finley told officers that while standing at the back door of his apartment, Jones and another man assaulted him by repeatedly hitting him in the head. Finley stated that he tried to retreat back into his apartment, but the men followed him inside and continued to hit and kick him. Jones allegedly told Finley as he was exiting the apartment that he had a gun and would kill him. Jones was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail with no bond.
