Florence Woman Arrested on Methamphetamine Charge

   Melonie Starr Twitty, age 39, of Florence, Alabama, was arrested on Thursday, November 21st on a charge of manufacture/deliver/sell/possession of methamphetamine. Deputy Tyler McKenzie filed a report stating that he performed a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Twitty for a loud muffler and a license plate that was not properly secured. While Deputy McKenzie was writing Twitty a warning citation for the violations, he obtained consent to search the vehicle. He then allegedly recovered less than 0.5 grams of methamphetamine in a plastic bag inside Twitty’s purse. Twitty was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $50,000.00 bond.
