Corey Allen Anthony Arrested for Violation of Sex Offender Registry

   Corey Allen Anthony, age 37, of Hohenwald, Tennessee, was arrested on Monday, August 9th on multiple charges. Lt. Jeremy Staggs of the Waynesboro Police Department filed a report stating that on July 22nd, 2021, Anthony allegedly admitted to residing at Waynesboro Village Apartments, which is in within 1,000 feet of Waynesboro Elementary School. This is a violation of Anthony’s status as a registered sex offender. Anthony was charged with violation of sex offender registry – residence restrictions, and violation of sex offender registry – failure to report. Anthony was also charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license after he was allegedly observed on video surveillance leaving the apartment complex by vehicle on August 5th. Anthony was also charged on two additional outstanding warrants for vandalism over $1,000 and theft over $1,000. These warrants were issued by Investigator Steve Wilson of the Clifton Police Department, and stated that on or about June 1st, 2021, Anthony went to a residence on James K. Polk Street in Clifton and cut two catalytic converters off a Ford pickup truck parked in the driveway. Anthony was allegedly identified by the complainant and was captured on video surveillance. Anthony was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $56,000.00 bond.
