Clifton Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

   Wesley Joe Nance, age 39, of Clifton was arrested on multiple drug charges on Sunday, February 9th after being found unconscious in a vehicle parked behind a house. Sergeant Eric Wilson was dispatched to a call requesting a well-being check on Morrison Creek Road, where he located Nance allegedly slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Deputy Wilson began asking Nance if he was okay, and ordered him not to reach for anything in the vehicle. When Nance allegedly began reaching down to the right, Deputy Wilson grabbed his hands, pulled him out of the vehicle, and placed him in handcuffs. While Deputy Wilson was searching Nance, a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine allegedly fell out of Nance’s back right pants pocket. A bag containing marijuana was then found in Nance’s right front pocket. A search of Nance’s vehicle allegedly revealed a loaded .22 revolver, a marijuana grinder, rolling papers, hemostats, and a can containing marijuana seeds. Nance was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, simple possession/casual exchange of schedule VI marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $55,000.00 bond.
