Castleman Arrested on Theft Charge

John Wilburn Castleman, Jr., age 48, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Monday, January 22 on a charge of theft over $10,000.

The arrest report stated that on Sunday, January 21, Patrolman Jeffrey Totsch was dispatched to Calvary Baptist Church to speak with Mrs. Patricia Castleman regarding a vehicle that had not been returned. Mrs. Castleman stated that she had loaned her Lexus to her grandson on January 14. Mrs. Castleman then stated that she became aware that her son, John Castleman, Jr., had allegedly taken the vehicle without permission and was unable to be located for several days.

Officer Totsch’s report went on to say that Mrs. Castleman’s Lexus was eventually located at a residence on Morrow Street in Waynesboro. John Castleman, Jr. was arrested the following day on the charge of theft over $10,000. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $50,000.00 bond.
