William Earl Pope was born on Tuesday, March 13, 1951 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late Earnie Brown and Gladys May Inman Pope. Mr. Pope was a Wayne County 1969 High school graduate, a brick mason, and worked for Genesco Boot Manufacturing Company for many years. Mr. Pope departed this life on Sunday, August 15, 2021 in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 70 years, 5 months, and 2 days.
William Earl Pope is survived by three daughters, Penny Lane Pope of Savannah, TN, Lyndsey Morgan of Adamsville, TN, and Chelsea (Brown) Beckham and husband Steven Bruce of Waynesboro, TN; two brothers, A.B. Pope of Waynesboro, TN, and James Franklin Pope of Waynesboro, TN; and five grandchildren, Samuel Morgan, Elijah Morgan, Aleyna Kalayci, Aydin Kalayci, and Levi Beckham.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pope was preceded in death by two brothers, M.T. Pope and Jerry Pope; and a sister, Mable Ingram.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN. Memorial services were held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with N.J. Pope officiating and Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. The burial will be held at a later date at Buchanan Cemetery.
