Victor Jerome “Jerry” Carver, Sr. was born January 29, 1946 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Cartwright Carver. He was united in marriage to Kathie Regina Skaggs on May 4, 1968. Mr. Carver was a rate clerk for Clipper Express in Chicago, IL, a safety director for Sharp Transport in Ethridge, TN, and then a fleet manager at USA in Florence, AL. He departed this life on October 7, 2022 in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 76 years, 8 months, and 8 days.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Regina Carver; sons, Jerry Carver, Jr. and wife Selena, and Brian Keith Carver; a daughter, Tracy Denise Carver, of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Jerry Carver III and wife Tina, Krista Cantrell, Jake Carver and wife Kennedy, Kenda Dial, Braxton Pigg, and Jessica Carver; great-grandchildren, Caden Cantrell, Alleigh Beth Cantrell, Jensen Carver, and Hayden Carver.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carver was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Carver, Leroy Carver, and grandson, Cameron Carver.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN, with Ricky Nelson officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Gardens in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County.
Pallbearers were Jerry Carver III, Jake Carver, Braxton Pigg, and Caden Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers were Jensen Carver and Hayden Carver.
