Thomas Daniel (Mr. Tom) Smoke, II of Iron City, Tennessee was born on May 25, 1935 in Selma, Alabama, the son of the late Thomas Daniel and Mary Gaines Williams Smoke. He was united in marriage to the former Shirley M. Cummins on June 11, 1960. Mr. Smoke was a retired forester with Hughes Hardwood and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee and departed this life on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama at the age of 84 Years, 7 Months and 21 Days.
He is survived by his wife of almost sixty years, Shirley M. Smoke of Iron City, TN; his sons, Gregary Smoke and wife, Colleen of Westpoint, TN, David Smoke and wife, Teresa of Sevierville, TN, Thomas D. Smoke, III and wife, Sybil of Waynesboro, TN and Christopher Smoke of Haleyville, AL; his daughters, Debra Bottom of Iron City, TN and Michelle Smoke of Florence, AL; his grandchildren, Paul, Scott and Jaxson Smoke, Samantha Arnold, Brandon Butler, Jamel Rohling, Justin and Josh Hatcher, April and Billy Joe Keeton, Kristina Hanvey, Katherin Risner and Christian Kilburn; his great-grandchildren, Will, Alex, Brycen, Sophie, Holland, Domenic, Abrie, Ryen, Brielia, Denton, Aiden, Lydia, Sophia, Alyssa, Madison, Peyton, Greyson, Clayton, Ronin and is expecting Gavin and Garrett; his brothers, Daniel Smoke of Spokane, WA and James Smoke of Port Naches, TX; and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee, with David Miller and Tommy Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Serving as his pallbearers were Billy Joe Keeton, Paul Smoke, Josh Hanvey, Colby Risner, Daniel Smoke, and James Smoke.
