Shelia Diane Burgett Staggs of Collinwood, Tennessee was born September 25, 1953 in Columbia, Tennessee, the daughter of Alice Frances Hendrix Burgett of Mt. Pleasant, TN, who survives, and the late Frank Hugh Burgett. She married Grady Boyd “Shady Grady” Staggs on September 25, 1975 and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2017. Mrs. Staggs was retired from Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company and departed this life on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee after a brief illness at the age of 66 Years, 1 Month and 17 Days.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a son, Joshua Staggs and wife, Tara of Channahon, IL; her grandchildren, “Oma’s babies,” Grady Axle and Xara Albee Staggs; a sister, Janie Howell and husband, Ray of Mt. Pleasant, TN.
Services were Friday, November 15, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Larry Heard officiating. Burial was in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee. Pallbearers were Billy Coleman, Shawn Richardson, Norman Staggs, Kenny Martin, Larry Miller, David Holt, Ben Jordan, and Jimmy Esters. Honorary pallbearers were Mary Ann Hendrixson, Diana Kersey, and Sandra Matthews.
