Sarah Elizabeth Martin, age 101, of Waynesboro, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Country Cottage in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. She was a member of Forty-Eight Bridge Freewill Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN. She loved to draw and she loved spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. She always kept a garden and shared fresh vegetables with many close friends and relatives to show her gentle love. She was well known for her goodwill and compassion.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Oswell Martin Sr.; parents, William Houston Guttery and Rhoda Bell Woodall; brothers, Leonard Guttery, George Guttery; sisters, Lola Locke, Lou Locke, and Vernie Kephart.
She is survived by her sons, Joel Oswell Martin Jr. (Rose), Roger Lee Martin (Rebecca); daughters, Patricia Ann Keeton, Sheila Gail Beard, Alicia Kay Reeves (Alan); sister, Margie Lucille Kephart; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service was held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Interment was at Forty-Eight Bridge Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
