   Mrs. Sandra Joan Morris Smith was born September 18, 1949 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late William Rufus Morris and Lois Wylodean Hayes. She graduated from Swartz Creek in 1967. Mrs. Smith worked at Fisher Body for a number of years and then began working in various different roles through the years at Hurley Medical Center where she retired as an Admitting Clerk in 2011. It was while she was working in the kitchen of Hurley Medical Center she met her husband James Smith. They were united in marriage on May 12th, 2000. They remained in Michigan until James retired and then made the move to Collinwood in 2014. She was the former AFSCME Local 1603 Vice President and a member of the UAW Local 581. Mrs. Smith departed this life on September 2, 2020 in Waynesboro at the age of 70 Years, 11 Months and 15 Days.

   She is survived by her husband James Smith of Collinwood, TN; four sons, Tom Garty, Jr. (Rebeca), Steven Garty, Sr. (Cyndi), James Smith, Jr. (Letice), Sharvanta Smith; three daughters, Stacy Dixson (Keith), Iyana Alamin, Shiletha Segrest; a brother, William Morris (Lisa); three sisters, Brenda Sales Taylor, Elaine Sales Henderson, Kathy Greene (Eddie); eleven grandchildren, Tressa Garty, Anastasia Garty, Thomas Garty, Brooklyn Garty, Steven Garty, Jr., Dequinta Watson, Tanasia Montgomery, Jaylen Smith, Dasia Alamin, Urie Smith, Jayvion Smith; one great-grandchild, Davon Garty. She is also survived by her father, Rayburn Atchley, sister-in-law, Jane Atchley, and several special friends and family members which include: Walley and Carol Polk, Mary Ann Hager, Bea Perez, Toni Gonzalez-Garty, Jeff and Anita Montgomery, Noah and Krystale Linville, and Jerdie Ayers.

   In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Shawn Atchley.  

   Services were held on September 6, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood with Joseph Wallace officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors assisted the family.
