Ruth Allen Hime passed into heaven January 22, 2021 at 97 years of age. Ruth Hime was born in Athens, Alabama to John and Pearlie Allen, November 26, 1923. She married Bob Hime, May 8, 1943 in Corinth, Mississippi. They would have celebrated their 77th year of marriage. Bob and Ruth Hime, together, were founding members of First Baptist Church, Clifton, Tennessee. She was a talented homemaker and gifted seamstress. Friends and family will remember her thoughtfulness in sending cards and cooking for loved ones.
Ruth Hime was preceded in death by husband, Bob Hime; parents, John and Pearlie Allen; siblings, Buford Allen, Pauline Bynum, John Franklin Allen, Mary Loucille Allen Hime, Wayne E. Allen. Ruth is survived by her children, Ann Musselwhite, husband, Wayne Musselwhite, Murfreesboro, TN; Bobbie Cobb, husband, Allen Cobb, Clifton, TN; Debra Sue Lee, husband, John Lee, Brentwood, TN; and George Allen Hime, Nolensville, TN; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Ruth will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren will miss her coming to the door with a big smile, saying, “Howdy Doo Darlin’” and having a big pot of soup on the stove.
Due to Covid-19, a private family graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Prater’s Chapel Cemetery, Clifton, TN with Randall Runions officiating and Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Pallbearers were Charles Cobb, Austin Lee, Cameron Blackburn, Dylan Cobb, Ian Mallory, Ben Jones, and Fred Gillham, Sr. as honorary.
