Reba Irene Kilburn Hicks

   Mrs. Reba Irene Kilburn Hicks passed peacefully from this life to be with her Lord at her home in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 87 years. She was born to the late James Frank Kilburn and Ollie Creecy Kilburn in Waynesboro, TN August 8, 1936. She attended school in Wayne County and married her now late husband Marvin Edward Hicks December 15, 1957 to whom she remained married until his passing on December 18, 2017. She worked as a homemaker and as a garment worker for Angelica Manufacturing in Waynesboro for many years. Mrs. Hicks attended Zion Baptist Church in the Sweetwater community of Wayne County and the Canaan Freewill Baptist Church in the Fish Trap community of Lawrence County, TN. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and loved spending time with all her many family and friends.   

   Survivors include her sons, Marvin Wayne Hicks (wife Pam), James Larry Hicks (wife Janice); sisters Myrtle Ida Dean Brewer and Betty Lou Daniel all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, April Piper (husband Josh); Tiffany Hicks, Jacob Hicks (Valerie), Raven Hicks, Katie Hicks, LaJinda Gunn (Bobby), Kyle Hicks (wife Mary), Cody Hicks (Amy); one step-grandson, Justin Davidson; great-grandchildren, Renee Piper, Silas Hicks, Bjorn Alexander Hicks, Makayla Gunn, Allie Gunn, Landon Gunn, Kendra Walker, Spencer Hicks, Carson Hicks, Brayle Hicks, Jake Howel. 

   In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son Jerry Dale Hicks; brother Buford Kilburn and sister Imogene Luna.

   Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation,LLC is honored to serve the Hicks family during this their time of grief.

   Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Irene Kilburn  Hicks were held December 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel  in Waynesboro, TN with Danny Huckaba and Danny Clarke officiating. Burial followed at Cole Cemetery in the Sweetwater Community near the Natchez Trace. 

   Those honored to serve as pallbearers included: Bobby Gunn, Kyle Hicks, Cody Hicks, Josh Piper, Justin Davidson, and Franklin Cole. 

   Visitation was on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm and again Monday December 11, 2023 from 10:00 am till 1:00 pm service time, all at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC Chapel in Waynesboro, TN.
