R.D. Copeland, Lutts, Tennessee, was born July 17, 1935 in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of the late John Ledford (Bud) and Rachel Johnson Copeland. Mr. Copeland was a sawmill worker and member of Mt. Hope Church of Christ, Lutts, Tennessee, and departed this life Thursday, September 10, 2020 at his home at the age of 85 Years, 1 Month, 24 Days.
Survivors, wife, whom he married January 9, 1960, Betty Ruth Brown Copeland, Lutts, TN; sons, Travis Wayne Copeland and Roy Dale Copeland both of Lutts, TN; daughters, Mary Ann Dawson Copeland, Florence, AL and Kimberly Diane Burbank, Savannah, TN; grandchildren, William Dale Burbank, Tarawynoka R. Sharp, Misty N. Cobb, Ronnie D. Burbank, Betty Cobb, Christopher Copeland, Adam Copeland, Joshua Copeland, Dakota Copeland, Melissa Risner, Roy Copeland, Jr. and Briana Copeland; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Copeland, Savannah, TN; sisters, Pauline Hamm, Waynesboro, TN, Osalean Stubblefield, Savannah, TN and Irene Burns, Cypress Inn, TN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Copeland was preceded in death by brother, Grady Copeland and sisters, Pearl Benson, May Williams, Ruby Weeks and Kathleen Acres.
Services were Monday, September 14, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton and Mike Andrews officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lutts, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers were Ronnie Burbank, Bubba Copeland, Adam Copeland, Douglas Copeland, Juston Sharp and Dakota Copeland with Chris Roberson, Brantley Sharp and Douglas Dawson as honorary pallbearers.
