In loving memory of Patricia Carol Thompson Staggs, born on November 9, 1951 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Charles Leon and Mary Ellis Haithcoat Thompson. She was a dedicated wife to her beloved husband Willard Lee Staggs, their union blessed on November 13, 1969.
Patricia was a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact on her community. She touched the lives of many as the owner of both Pat’s Place, a cherished restaurant in Collinwood, TN, and Little Tykes Daycare. Patricia poured her heart into these endeavors, creating spaces where love and laughter flourished.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patricia enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, being on the river riding the pontoon, and keeping everyone fed or using her gift of a green thumb to grow beautiful plants and flowers. Patricia had many talents and hobbies. She used these to fill tummies with delicious meals, birthday cakes to wedding cakes, quilts, from crocheted gifts to embroidered gifts. They were always made with love, and family and friends have a piece of her heart to cherish a lifetime. On September 4, 2023, Patricia departed this life at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 26 days in Collinwood, TN at her home.
Patricia is survived by husband Willard Lee Staggs of Collinwood, TN; their children: Felecia Dianne Staggs Bryant (Joshua) of Killen, AL and Eric Lee Staggs of Florence, AL; brother Charles Leon Thompson, Jr. of Collinwood, TN; sisters Judy Kay Franks of Cypress Inn, TN and Susan Weichselbaum of Mountain Home, AR; grandchildren Sydney Claire Bryant, Ansley Dae Bryant, Dylan Lee Staggs, Abby Lynn Staggs, and Addison Rayne Staggs.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by brothers, Danny Thompson and Anthony Thompson.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
