Michael Russ Gambrell, Iron City, TN, was born October 21, 1962 in Florence, AL. He married the former Brenda Kay Pruett, February 6, 1981. Michael, a maintenance director at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation, was a member of Williams Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Iron City, Tennessee but attended McGlamery Church, Collinwood, TN. He enjoyed playing music, singing and farming. Michael departed this life Saturday, May 14, 2022 at UAB Hospital, Birmingham, Alabama at the age of 59 Years, 6 Months, 23 Days after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Gambrell, Iron City, TN; sons, Christopher Russ Gambrell, wife, Alisha, Westpoint, TN and Brandon Michael Gambrell, Iron City, TN; grandchildren, Jimma Ruth, Tenlee Kay, Henry Michael, and Charlie Nelson Gambrell; and mother, Earlene Daniel Gambrell, Waynesboro, TN. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Russell Gambrell and sister, Vicky Kay Gambrell.
Services were Monday, May 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Stacey Holt and John E. Banks officiating. Burial was in Hollis Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee. Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisted the family. Pallbearers were Roger Butler, Jerry Butler, Doug Lee, Tim Powell, Larry Miller, and John David Sherrill.
