Mrs. Mary Ethel Ayers Sherrill was born December 26, 1932 in Wayne County, Tennessee to the union of the late George Claude and Goldie Pearl Holt Ayers. She was united in marriage to John Thomas Sherrill on June 1, 1963. Mr. Sherrill preceded her in death on December 4, 1999. She was a homemaker and can be remembered by her family as loving to work in her flower gardens. When she was able, she attended Scotts Chapel Church. Mrs. Sherrill departed this life on December 23, 2020 in Florence, Alabama making her stay in this life some 87 Years, 11 Months, and 27 Days.
She is survived by a son, Thomas Sherrill and wife Lisa of Cypress Inn, TN; a daughter, Louise Parrish and husband William of Florence, AL; a sister, Margaret Johnson of Lutts, TN; three grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sherrill was preceded in death by three brothers, Noah, Arlie, and George Ayers; and a grandson, Jeremy Bates.
A graveside service was held on Monday December 28, 2020 at the Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery in Florence, Alabama with Tim Hanback officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting.
