Mary Christine Thrasher Staggs was born July 10, 1937 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late Elias P. and Bessie Viola Berry Thrasher. She was united in marriage to Edward Allen Staggs in July 1993. Christine was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Collinwood, TN. In her spare time, Christine enjoyed spending time with her dogs, gardening, and shopping. Christine departed this life on June 28, 2023 at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 18 days.
She is survived by husband of 30 years, Edward Allen Staggs of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Shirley Haddock of Collinwood, TN; a sister, Wanda Vallejo of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandchildren, Brad Haddock, Michael Risner, and Keysha Scott; great-grandchildren, Easton, Azurae, Will, Issac, Ty, and Jacoby; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by daughters, Kathryn Jones, Judy French, and Rebecca Guerro; a son, David Jones; sisters, Iva Dean and Sue; brothers, Glenn, Roy, Jackie, Leon; and grandson, Brandon Whidden.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 1:00pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Tim Hanback officiating. Burial followed in McGlamery Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
