Mrs. Mary Christine Norton Witcher of Waynesboro, Tennessee was born December 7, 1921 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late Preston Gilbert and Clara Mae Clayton Norton. She was united in marriage to Herbert Linsley Witcher and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2013. Mrs. Witcher was a retired bookkeeper and member of the First Christian Church in Waynesboro, TN. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro at the age of 97 Years, 10 Months and 2 Days.
She is survived by a son, Gerald Witcher, Brentwood, TN; grandchildren, Clint Witcher and Heather Geren husband, Mike; great-grandchildren, Yates and Anna Clark Geren; a brother, Robert Norton of Cleveland, MS; a sister, RothaNell Collins of Waynesboro, TN and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Witcher was preceded in death by a sister, Earlene Smith.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00 am at Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Waynesboro with Randy Morris officiating. Visitation was one hour before the graveside services at the cemetery.
