   Marie Estella Lucca Hayes of Lutts, TN passed from this life on March 12, 2024, at the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL, making her stay on this earth some 86 years, 8 months and 15 days. She was born to the late Robert Baptista Lucca and Margaret Theophillis Kinkin Lucca on June 27, 1937, in Rickson, IL. Mrs. Hayes was united in marriage to John Thomas Hayes on August 15, 1957, to whom she remained married until his passing in 2020. She possessed a love for children, as she was a retired Teacher’s Assistant specializing in teaching children with special needs and also serving as a substitute teacher throughout her career. She enjoyed sports, as her hobbies included watching basketball and golf in her spare time, working puzzles, and enjoying nature in the countryside which she called home. Mrs. Hayes was a long-time member of the Mt. Hope Church of Christ in Lutts, TN. She loved her family, church, community as well as many friends and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

   She is survived by her sons, Roberts Hayes of Lutts, TN and John Hayes with wife Brenda in Iron City, TN; grandchildren, Sabrina Griffin and husband J.D. of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Matthew Hayes of Iron City, TN; Michael Hayes, Jerod Winnie, and Chad Winnie; great-grandchildren include Anniston Griffin and Gatlin Griffin; and brother, George  Kaldem.

   In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Hayes, who passed in the year of 2023.

   Services were held Saturday March 16, 2024 at the Mt. Hope Church of Christ in Lutts at 3:00 pm with Mike Andrews officiating.

   Visitation began March 16, 2024 at the Mt. Hope Church of Christ from 1:00 pm until service time at 3:00 pm.

   Burial followed in the Mt. Hope Church of Christ Cemetery.
