Lula Joyce Ayers Hamm, age 79, of Waynesboro, TN, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Waynesboro Health & Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, TN. Joyce was born on November 21, 1943 to Tom and Gertrude Ayers of Lutts, TN. Joyce was united in marriage to Dennis Hamm who preceded her in death on May 7, 2019. Joyce was a retired LPN, working over 40 years in Alabama.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, E.J. Ayers and Tommy Ayers, and one sister, Doris Reeves.
Lula is survived by two sisters-in-law, Kathy Ayers and Barbara Ayers, and three special friends, Leo and Earline Kilburn and Janey Brewer.
We loved her like a sister. Joyce, we are going to miss you so much!
Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with John D. Heard officiating. Burial followed in Mount Hope Cemetery in Lutts, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
