Lois “Ma” Staggs Crews

   Lois “Ma” Staggs Crews was born on May 24, 1932 in Wayne County, TN, to the late Clarence and Delia Gobbell Staggs. She lived a life filled with love and devotion as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

   On October 31, 1950, Lois married Calvin Crews and together they built a beautiful life. Although Calvin passed away on September 29, 1990, their love remains eternal. Lois was a faithful member of Highland Methodist Church for many years.

   Lois had a heart filled with warmth and compassion. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Whether it was gathering around the dining table for delicious meals or sharing laughter during family celebrations, Lois cherished every moment she spent with her loved ones.

   On September 6, 2023, at the age of 91 years, 3 months, and 23 days, Lois peacefully left this world in Waynesboro, TN. She leaves behind an incredible legacy of love and memories that will forever be held dear by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

   She is survived by daughters Sharon McClain and husband Randy, Jan Horton and husband Robert; sons Bill Crews, Danny Crews and wife Carole, Barry Crews and wife Carol, and Jeff Crews and wife Carol; daughter-in-law Connie Crews; son-in-law Brent Grinder; sister, Carol Thompson; 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

   In addition to her husband and parents, Lois was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Grinder, son Jim Crews, daughter-in-law Kathy Crews, and great-grandchild Casen McClain; brothers, Lonnie Staggs, Mack Staggs, Marvin Staggs, and Lawrence Edward Staggs; and sister, Sue Pope. 

   Funeral services held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN. Burial in the Highland Methodist Church Cemetery at Lawrenceburg, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

   Pallbearers: Jason Crews, Josh Crews, Eric Horton, Matt McClain, Blake Crews, Blaine Crews, Lance Crews, and Clay Crews.

   In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Butterfly Foundation or St Jude Hospital.
