   Mrs. Linda Brewer Lay was born November 20, 1942 in Memphis, TN to the union of the late Richard Carmack and Bessie Lorene Baker Brewer. She was united in marriage to Joseph Vernon Lay on November 5, 1960. Mr. Vernon preceded her in death on August 15, 2022. Mrs. Linda was the lunchroom manager for the Waynesboro Elementary/Middle School Cafeteria. She was an active member of the Wayne County Republican Women. She will be lovingly remembered for her love of riding horses, quilting, knitting, crocheting, stained glass, gardening, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Linda will be remembered as a faithful Christian and member of the Waynesboro Church of Christ. Mrs. Lay departed from this earthly life on August 13, 2023 at her home in Waynesboro, making her stay in this life some 80 years, 8 months, and 25 days.

   She is survived by her children, Victor Hall Lay and wife Bethany of Spring Hill, TN; Scarlett Renee Bryant and husband Terry and Verna Lynn Miller both of Waynesboro, TN; two brothers, Rick Brewer and wife Jan of Hohenwald, TN, Mark Brewer and wife Terri of Brentwood, TN; two sisters, Shirley Curry, Barbara Davis and husband Kenneth both of Waynesboro, TN. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Clint Bryant and wife Jessica, Cody Bryant and wife Lilly, Lydia Lay, Lucas Lay and wife Traci, Tori Lay, Sarah Lynn Miller; and six great-grandchildren, Colt, Braxton, Emma, Axle, and Michelle Bryant.

   Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:30 AM at Waynesboro Church of Christ.

   Funeral services will begin on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Waynesboro Church of Christ with Victor Lay and Terry Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Cypert, Copeland, Lay Cemetery.
