   Mr. Jerry Wayne Bryson, 77, of Lanett, Alabama, passed away on September 30, 2019 at EAMC in Opelika, AL. He was born in Wadley on May 26, 1942, to the late JVan and Ina Mae Bryson. He was a graduate of Lanett High School. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam conflict. Jerry received many citations in the Navy including Meritorious unit commendation, Navy “E” Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation and Presidential Unit Citation. After his service, Jerry worked for West Point Pepperell at Shawmut, Riverdale and Lanett mills. He then was employed at Valley Times-News as Pressroom Foreman until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of Lanier Baptist Church in Fredonia. Jerry loved to bass fish and enjoyed social media on the internet. He was an avid Alabama football fan.

   Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Bryson; his sister, Catherine Bryson Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Thompson Bryson; son, John Bryson; daughter, Jennifer (Mathew) Hill; brothers, Terry (Lisa) Bryson and Ronnie (Toni) Bryson; his grandchildren, Jessica (Austin) Kilgore, Brooklyn (Raffa) Hewett, Gavin (Ellisa) O’Barr, Skyler O’Barr (Josh Cleavland), Skyler Hill and Lane Hill; and five great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services were held at Bluffton Funeral Services on October 4, 2019, at 11 am. Graveside service followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett with Dr. Darren White officiating.
