   Harold Wayne Pope, 77, of Waynesboro, TN died March 18, 2024 in his home. Harold was born on February 21, 1947 to Rubie (Red) Pope and Lois Pulley Pope.

   Harold began his career at Wayne Farmer’s Co-Op in 1964 after graduating from Wayne County High School. He was drafted by the U.S. Army shortly thereafter and did a tour of duty in Korea before returning to work at the Co-Op in 1968. Harold was promoted to Assistant Manager of the Co-Op in 1970 and was hired as General Manager in 1992. He retired from the Co-Op in September 2014 after 50 years of employment. Harold was an active member of the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association and served on the Board of Directors for The Bank of Waynesboro for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with his cattle, fishing, going to the sale barn and spending time with his family on his farm.

   Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eva Jean Dickey Pope; daughter, Jennifer Morris (Jason); two sons, Bryan Pope (Joy Beth) and Bart Pope (Amy); 11 grandchildren, Haley Sanders (Evan), Braden Morris, Grace Dollar (Ben), Boston Pope, Brandon Pope, Braxton Butler, Reyna Prince, Starr Prince, Lily Pope, Ruby Pope and Jake Pope; one great-grandchild, Leia Vivienne Dollar; one sister, Helen Melson; three brothers, Willard Pope (Brenda), Randy Pope (Janie) and Dwight Pope (Cindy); and many other beloved family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Lindsay Mathis Pope.

   Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home with Joel Wallace officiating. Interment followed at Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, TN.

   Pallbearers included Braden Morris, Evan Sanders, Jamie Dale Odle, Chris Pope, Jeremy Pope, Stan Pope, Mike Meek and Sam Franks. Honorary Pallbearers were Boston Pope, Brandon Pope and Jake Pope.
