It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a cherished member of our community, Douglas Wayne Adams, who departed from this world on March 4, 2024. Douglas, born on December 7, 1955, to Betty Sue Gordon Adams and the late David Edward Adams, lived a life filled with love and kindness.
On December 5, 1978, he found his lifelong companion in marriage to Brenda Sue Gobble. He worked many years at Hardee’s and then McDonald’s as a maintenance worker. He enjoyed spending the summers mowing lawns and loved riding his lawn mower all around town.
Douglas is survived by his loving mother and devoted wife, along with his brother Gary Lynn Adams (Kimberly) of Lawrence County and five cherished sisters: Debora Kay Pevahouse (Tommy), Teresa Faye Warren (Petey), Geneva Ann Hurt (Charlie), Pamela Sue Bridges, Paula Joyce Lee (Terry). He also leaves behind nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart: Kyle Adams, Shelly Bridges, Jeremy Warren, Sedrick Pevahouse, Lee Adams, Molly Hurt – as well as several great nieces and nephews.
As he moves into Eternity, Douglas reunites with his father and nephews Timothy Dewayne (Tojo) Pevahouse and Charles David Adams.
