Douglas Morris Folger was born Wednesday, May 26, 1954 in Wayne County, Tennessee to the late Morris and Iva Lilica Thompson Folger. He was united in marriage to the former Teresa Reatherford on November 24, 1977. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his real passion came in running his beagle dogs and spending time with his family. Mr. Folger departed this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at his home, making his stay in this life 69 years, 9 months, and 16 days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Teresa Folger of Waynesboro, TN; daughter, Tammy Tipps of Waynesboro, TN; daughter of the heart, Melinda Dugger (Randle) of Clifton, TN; four sisters, Barbara Davis (Charles) of Chapel Hill, TN; Beverly Prince (Dwight); Belinda Graham (Jimmy) both of Waynesboro, TN; Peggy O’Guin (Bob) of Florida; one granddaughter, Kileyan Tipps; two grandchildren of the heart, Ragan Dugger and Braden Coker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Shaun Paul Folger and two brothers, David Folger and Dennis Folger.
Funeral services began at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 15, 2024 with Bryan Reatherford and Darrell Collier officiating at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel. Interment followed in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens.
