Mrs. Delphia Williams Montgomery was born January 16, 1926 in Lutts, Tennessee to the union of the late Ellie Eugene and Clara Eula Hill Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Hill Church of Christ in Waterloo, AL. She was united in marriage to Grayford Eugene Montgomery on April 9, 1944. Mrs. Montgomery departed this life on February 26, 2020 in Cypress Inn, Tennessee making her stay in this life some 94 Years, 1 Month and 10 Days.
Survivors include her husband of almost 76 years, Grayford Eugene Montgomery of Cypress Inn, TN; four sons, Barry Montgomery of Cypress Inn, TN, Jarry Montgomery of Florence, AL, David Montgomery of Cypress Inn, TN, Danny Montgomery of Florence, AL; four daughters, Patricia Berzett of Athens, AL, Nancy Tilley of Cypress Inn, TN, Sherry Crosslin of Florence, AL, Melissa Smith of Scotts Hill, TN; 23 Grandchildren, 45 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Partain, a son Gary Allen Montgomery, grandsons Blake Moore and Brandon Lee Montgomery, sisters Vival Dodd, Hazel Haddock, Opal Lewis, Bassell Miles, and a brother, Clayburn Williams.
Services were
held on February 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors,
Collinwood, Tennessee, with Nolan Burns officiating. Burial followed in the Mt.
Hope Cemetery at Lutts, Tennessee.
