Mr. Delbert Wayne Whitehead was born August 6, 1947 in Hohenwald, Tennessee to the union of the late Joe Cleveland and Ethel Mae Skelton Whitehead. He was united in marriage to Rachel Crowell on December 28, 1965. Mrs. Whitehead preceded him in death on August 2, 1992. Mr. Whitehead was a farm hand, having worked for both Robert Butts and Trey Ripley. Mr. Whitehead departed this life on October 9, 2020 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, making his stay in this life some 73 Years, 2 Months, and 3 Days.
He is survived by a son, Robert Whitehead; two daughters, Kathy Keeton and Andrea Jones and husband Jerry, all of Waynesboro, TN; six grandchildren, Jeremy Brewer, Raymond Morris, Sha Nix, Joelton Whitehead, Alex Jones, Jennifer Jones; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Whitehead; two sisters, Jo Bell Hollis and Clara Dixon.
Services were held on Monday October 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial followed in the Skelton Cemetery at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting.
