Cordelia (Delia) Robertson Barber, Collinwood, TN, was born April 28, 1942 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late William Roy and Jimmie Lorene Daniel Robertson. She was united in marriage to James Thomas Barber on September 25, 1970 and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2000. Mrs. Barber was a housekeeper at Wayne Medical Center and had previously worked at Trace Manufacturing and Angelica. She was a member of the McGlamery Church in Collinwood, Tennessee, the Order of Eastern Star and the Red Hats. Mrs. Barber departed this life on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at her home at the age of 79 Years, 7 Months, 18 Days.
She is survived by a son, Philip Ray Dishongh, wife, Kelly of Chesapeake, VA; daughters, Kathy Ann Long, husband, Mike and Joy Lynn Powell, husband, Tim all of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Jamie Ayers, Jacob Ayers, Dustin Dishongh, wife, Emily, Brianna Dishongh and Celia Powell; great-grandchildren, Addiston Ayers, Haddie Dishongh and Gunnar Dishongh; a brother, Roy Neal Robertson of Waynesboro, TN; a sister-in-law, Violet Robertson Taylor of Florence, AL and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by brothers, Billy and Alfred Robertson and sisters, Rebecca and Kathryn Robertson.
Services were held Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with John E. Banks and Marcus Adams officiating. Burial was in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation was Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 10 am to service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Jamie Ayers, Jacob Ayers, Jeff Robertson, Jim Mitchell, Terry Roberson, and Curtis Linville, and Cecil Holt and Smitty Smith as honorary pallbearers.
