Clara Ruth Cole Hooper was born August 15, 1955 in Hohenwald, TN to the late Hardin Cole and Nell Franks Cole Pope. Mrs. Hooper was united in marriage to Ricky Hooper on January 30, 1976. Mr. Hooper preceded her in death on November 2, 2005. She was of the Church of God faith and will be remembered as loving to attend church. She worked for 30 years at Murray Ohio in Lawrenceburg, TN and the Wayne County Boot Camp for several years. Mrs. Hooper loved spending time with her family. She departed this life on Sunday, March 24, 2024, in Florence, AL making her stay in this life 68 years, 7 months, and 10 days.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her mother and stepfather, Nell Franks Cole Pope (J.D.) of Clifton, TN; two daughters, Kim Russell (Chris), Marcie Hankins, both of Waynesboro, TN; her siblings, Pam Hicks of Waynesboro, TN; Steve Pope of Clifton, TN; Tracy Martin of Waynesboro, TN; Doris Allen of Clifton, TN; and Kay Burns of Clifton, TN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Allie Rhodes, Katelyn Casseday, Jasmine Brasfield, Morgan Hankins, Logan Hankins, Faith Jones, Brock Hankins, Tyler Russell, Kayonna Russell, Landon Russell. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother Floyd Cole, Jr. and a sister, Angie Ellison.
Visitation was held on Friday March 29, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM, all at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel.
Funeral services began at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 30, 2024, at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation chapel with Eric Warren and Geneva Middleton officiating. Interment followed in the Hooper Cemetery in Hohenwald, TN.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers included Clay Meyers, Morgan Hankins, Jordan Rhodes, Talon Williams, Jordon Hankins, and Tyler Russell.
