Chad DeWayne Gaston was born January 8, 1985 in Dallas, TX, son of Jerry Cummings and Evie Gaston. He was raised in Collinwood, TN by his parents, the late Mary and Joel Burleson. Chad had the biggest heart and was a true friend to many. His children were his whole world and his greatest accomplishments. He loved to hunt and could always be found cheering his #16 on at all her softball games. Chad worked for many years for the Wayne County Highway Department as a backhoe operator. Chad departed this life on August 20, 2023 in Lawrenceburg, TN at the age of 38 years, 7 months, and 12 days.
He is survived by his birth parents, Evie Gaston and Jerry Cummings; daughter, Brinlee Pearl Gaston of Collinwood, TN; son, Jaxx Grahm Gaston of Waynesboro, TN; sister, Kellie Brewer (Nathaniel) of Iron City, TN; grandmother, Faye Caperton of Savannah, TN; half-brother, Joey Cafarelli of TX; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Mary and Joel Burleson; grandfather, Jake Cummings; half-brother, Charlie Cafarelli; and half-sister, Crystal Gaston.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 1:00pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, with Ben Hanback officiating. Burial was in the McCall Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
Pallbearers: Wayne Brewer, Jack Beckham, Michael Thompson, Billy Joe Keeton, Chris Risner, Thomas Burleson, and Hunter Burns.
