Billy Don Steele was born September 10, 1945 in Florence, AL, the son of the late Earl Randalph and Eula Jobe Steele. He was united in marriage to Judy Diane Abrams on November 26, 1966. Billy was a 1964 graduate of Collinwood High School, Vice President of Farm Bureau for many years, Wayne County Commissioner, on the board for Wayne Famers Co-Op, a lifelong farmer, and a member of the Lutts Community Church in Lutts, TN. Billy departed this life on August 1, 2023 in Nashville, TN at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 22 days.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Diane Abrams Steele of Collinwood, TN; sons, Kevin Steele (Kathleen) of Knoxville, TN, Kerry Steele (Mandi) of Millington, TN, and Jamie Steele (Katie) of Lutts, TN; brother, Jeter Steele (June) of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Wesley Jenkins of Millington, TN, Kelley Steele of Knoxville, TN, Makenna Jenkins of Millington, TN, Tuck Steele of Lutts, TN, and Chase Steele of Millington, TN; and mother-in-law, Ann Bonar of Lutts, TN.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by grandson, Logan Steele; and father-in-law, Lewis Bonar.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN, with Chad Balentine officiating. Burial followed in the Lutts Cemetery at Lutts, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
