Billie Lee Thrasher was born August 8, 1936 in Steffenville, MO to the late Noble Gale and Hazel Cinda Ingle Thrasher. He married the former Beverly Carlene Smith November 26, 1960. Mr. Thrasher, a retired high school teacher and member of the Methodist Church, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, the American Legion and the Wayne County Retired Teachers Association. He departed this life Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 5 Months, 21 Days.
Survivors, wife, Beverly Thrasher, Collinwood, TN; son, Brian (Jennifer) Thrasher, Corinth, MS; daughter, Becky Thrasher, Aurora, MO; grandchildren, Blaine (Claire) Thrasher, Lindsey (Slatter) Huggins and Torry Thrasher; great-grandchildren, Brody and Kylie Thrasher, Gannon and Lyla Huggins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Bonnie Thrasher.
Memorial services will be Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Collinwood United Methodist Church with Tommy Flood officiating with military rites and burial in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee. Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County is directing. Honorary pallbearers will be Blaine Thrasher, Torry Thrasher, Slatter Huggins, Jerry Whitten and Don Sparks. Visitation is from 1 pm to service time at the church, Saturday.
