Mr. Arlie Taft Pigg was born June 15, 1936 in Wayne County, TN, the son of the late Frank and Ruia Leo Wright Pigg. Mr. Pigg was retired from Murray Ohio where he worked as an assembly line worker. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Faith. He was united in marriage to the former Zella Mae Harwell on September 13, 1956. He will be fondly remembered as a man who always worked hard and was nice to everyone he met. In his spare time, he had two hobbies he loved, making molasses and traveling on the wagon train. Mr. Pigg departed this life on January 6, 2022 in Cypress Inn, Tennessee at his home making his stay in this life some 85 Years, 6 Months and 22 Days.

He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Zella Mae Harwell Pigg of Cypress Inn, TN; three children, Paul Pigg and wife Kym, Donald Pigg and wife Melissa, and Debra Helton and husband Donald, all of Cypress Inn, TN; seven grandchildren, Joshua Pigg (Jessie), Jonathan Pigg (Crystal), Delania Pigg, Andrew Pigg (Brittany), David Helton (Bridgett), Daniel Helton and Jessica Creecy (Jacob). He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Thompson (Blake), Benjamin, Olivia, and Shaun Pigg, Henley Moore, Waylon Reeves, Lettie McMahan, Kaelyn and Payson Pigg, Delilah, Luke and Kaylee Helton, Noah and Eli Creecy; three brothers, Billy “Ross” Pigg and wife Ruth of Cypress Inn, TN, Curtis Pigg and wife Pat of Iron City, TN, Jimmy Pigg and wife Linda of Muscle Shoals, AL; two sisters, Lillie Franks and husband Larry of Lutts, TN, Morine Smith and husband Steve of Killen, AL; sister-in-law, Carolyn Pigg of Cypress Inn, TN. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pigg was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Regina Skaggs and her husband Gary; two brothers, Johnny and Joel Pigg.

Services were held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood, with Bro. Ronald Carlson, Bro. Junior Overstreet and Arthur Cordeiro officiating. Burial followed in the Jackson Cemetery at Cypress Inn, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family.
