Mrs. Patsy Riley Baer departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at her residence in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 9 Months, 19 Days. She was born October 18, 1932 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Elmer and Bertha Stutts Riley. She was united in marriage to Norman Dean Baer on January 20, 1951. Mrs. Baer was a homemaker and a member of the Wayne County Bible Center in Waynesboro, TN.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Dean Baer of Waynesboro, TN; a son, Gerald Baer and his wife, Daphne of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Pamela Barnes and her companion, Jerry Hunt of Waynesboro, TN; five grandchildren, Heather Wren, Mandy Baer, Lindsey Barnes Moreland, Colby Baer and Logan Baer; eight great-grandchildren, Kade Chastain, Dalton Chastain, Stacey Creecy, Seth Swinea, Isabella Weibolt, Jackson Baer, Aurora Moreland and Amory Baer; a sister, Betty Edwards, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Riley both of Waynesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baer was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Baer; two brothers, Charles “Buster” Riley and James Riley; and two sisters, Peggy Kelley and Jacqueline Holt.
Graveside services were held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Leo Doyle officiating and Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Pallbearers were Gerald Baer, Colby Baer, Logan Baer, Dalton Chastain, Kade Chastain, Jay Moreland, Jeff Wren and Steven Baird with honorary pallbearer being Seth Swinea.
