Basketball season is officially here, and Collinwood High School fans have plenty to be excited about as the Trojans and Trojanettes prepare to take the court for the 2025–2026 campaign. After opening the season on the road, CHS will finally return home on Friday, December 5, hosting Culleoka in what promises to be an electric night inside the CHS Gym. The Trojanettes will tip off first at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Trojans.
Trojanettes: A Young but Determined Squad
The Trojanettes enter the 2025–26 season with a talented roster anchored by their lone senior, Ellie Blalock—a steady leader whose experience and grit set the tone for a hungry and energetic team. Blalock leads a strong group of juniors: Abby Smith, Belle Robinson, and Sophia Keeton, each bringing athleticism, confidence, and chemistry to the floor.
We are also excited to see sophomore Sarah Creecy return along with a dynamic freshman class: Lydia Caperton, Emmy Brown, Brinn Crews, Brenleigh Hunt, Rachel Robinson, and Aubrey Todd. This young group adds depth, quickness, and a spark that fans will love watching develop.
The program is assisted by managers Avery Rowlett, Brilea Pigg, and youth manager Willow Abernathy. Head Coach Ashlee Sherrill and Assistant Coach Chaley Ray are ready to guide this emerging squad through a year of growth and competition.
Trojans: Senior Leadership Meets New Energy
The Trojans, led this season by Head Coach Tanner Andrews, enter 2025–26 with a deep and experienced senior class: Davin Brewer, Patch Craig, Brandon Gray, Brody Holt, Stetson Holt, Tate Linville, and Cole Risner. Their leadership, physicality, and varsity court time give CHS a strong foundation heading into the year.
Behind them is a talented junior group—Bryant Hill, Ayden Jones, Bennett Rich, and Cole Wilkins—known for their versatility and competitive spirit. The dynamic sophomore class includes Gentry Hart, Jett Dodd, Jonah Retherford, and Gavin Wright, while freshmen Jacob Burns, Lige Horton, Rylan Johns, and Brody Moser bring new energy to the future of the program.
Assistant Coach Hunter Andrews returns to the sideline to support player development and game preparation. Youth managers Case Sherrill and Ty Rich will assist the team this season.
Cheer Squad Sets the Tone
No CHS basketball season would be complete without the spirited support of the CHS Cheer Squad, led this year by senior Kimber Liles. Juniors Harbor Moore and Maddie Brown, sophomores Mandy Brewer, Aven Dotson, Avery Stults, and Savannah Wilkins, and freshmen Hadley Brewer, Emma Caperton, Jimma Gambrell, Kyleigh Horton, and Mya West bring nonstop enthusiasm and Trojan pride to every game.
The squad is coached by Daphne Robertson and Chelsey Andrews, who continue to build a high-energy cheer program that lifts both teams and fans.
Pack the Gym, Collinwood!
With teams full of talent, leadership, and heart, the Trojans and Trojanettes are ready to make the 2025–26 season one to remember.
Make plans to fill the CHS Gym on December 5 and support these hardworking student-athletes as they take on Culleoka.---Submitted
