CHS Basketball Season Ends at Region Tournament

The 2024-2025 Collinwood High School basketball season concluded last week. The Trojanettes faced McKenzie in the first round of the regional tournament but were defeated, finishing their season with a record of 19-8. The Trojans played against McEwen in their first regional match and lost also, ending their season with a record of 7-22.

On Friday, February 28th, the Trojanettes faced off against the Rebels of McKenzie. The girls fought hard but were trailing at halftime with a score of 17-28. Despite their efforts in the second half, the Trojanettes were unable to catch up, ultimately ending the game with a final score of 55-70. The lead scorers of the game were Sophia Keeton and Tevy Statom with 14 points each, followed by Tessa Statom with 12 points, Belle Robinson with 7 points, Ellie Blalock with 6 points, and Myah Gray-Ayers with 2 points.

On Saturday, March 1st, the Trojans faced off against the McEwen Warriors. The boys were trailing in the first half, with a score of 24-41 at halftime. Despite their strong effort, they were unable to score the points needed and finished the game with a final score of 29-69. The lead scorers of the night were Harrison Rich and Brody Holt with 9 points, followed by Cole Risner with 4 points, Tate Linville with 3 points, Patch Craig with 2 points, and Luke Holt with 2 points.
