Gerald Eugene Cole, age 78, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Thursday, May 25 on charges of aggravated burglary and criminal trespass. Sgt. Holly Tuck of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office filed a report stating that on Wednesday, May 24, she was dispatched to a residence on Railroad Bed Road in reference to a trespassing incident. Upon her arrival at the residence, the caller alleged that Cole had entered her home without her permission. Sgt. Tuck was unable to locate Cole at that time, but the following day, May 25, she was dispatched to the same address. Cole was located in a vacant neighboring residence and was allegedly positively identified as the person who had entered the home without permission on May 24. The caller also stated that Cole had come back to her residence the day before and attempted to make entry, but she had barricaded the door so no entry was made. Cole was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $50,500.00 bond.
