Kimberly Michelle Rodriguez, age 36, of Lutts, was arrested on Sunday, February 7th. Deputy Tyler McKenzie filed a report stating that he performed a traffic stop for improper display of plates on a vehicle in which Rodriguez was the back seat passenger. During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy McKenzie released K9 Eryk to do an exterior scan of the vehicle. Eryk then allegedly alerted to the driver’s side door. An interior search of the vehicle was performed, and Rodriguez’ purse was allegedly found to contain approximately 0.5 grams of meth, a pill bottle containing marijuana residue, a snorting straw, and a card used to cut meth. In addition, after running Rodriguez’ information through dispatch, it was confirmed that she had an active order of protection against her, with the protected person being Roy Copeland, Jr., the driver of the vehicle. Rodriguez was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of an order of protection. She was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $87,500.00 bond.
