Winter Storm Shuts Down Wayne County, Snow Accumulation 5-8 Inches

The beautiful snow that fell this week blanketed Wayne County in a winter wonderland of white. Although lovely to look at and fun to play in, the snow made roads treacherous all across the state. Much to students’ delight, schools were closed in Wayne County all week. However, the wintry precipitation that made it impossible for school buses to run their routes also made it difficult or impossible for Wayne Countians to get to work. Many were lucky to be able to work remotely from home this week, bringing back memories of the COVID pandemic.

With temperatures predicted to reach the 60s next week and more rain on the way, the snow will be disappearing soon. Anyone traveling on Wayne County roadways is advised to continue to be very careful throughout the weekend, because it looks like the icy secondary roads will be hanging around for a few more days.
