WCHS to Celebrate Homecoming on Friday Night

Wayne County High School will celebrate Homecoming this Friday night as the Wildcat football team takes on the visiting Eagleville Eagles. Students have been participating in events all week long, including dress-up days to show their school spirit. This year’s dress up days revolved around the Theme “BEAT the Eagles,” and are as follows: Tuesday- “Party in the USA”- red, white, and blue day, Wednesday- “A Country Boy Can Survive”- camo/western day, Thursday- “We are Family” -Class Shirt Day for Field Day, and Friday- “I Believe That We Will Win”- Black and Gold Day.

Students will participate in the annual field day on Thursday. Friday morning activities will continue with the classes competing in a lip sync battle and the Homecoming Parade. Students will also design a banner to coincide with their theme and these will be showcased at the ballgame Friday night. The annual Homecoming parade will leave WCHS on Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. and circle the square then return to WCHS for the pep rally.

The Homecoming Royalty Court is made up of: Freshman Maid- Elly Hollis, Sophomore Maid- Presley Daniel, Junior Maid- Blair Baugus, Senior Maid- Jacqueline Keaton, and Homecoming Queen- Audrey Franks. The Homecoming Ceremony begins at 6:30, followed by kickoff at 7:00 p.m. GO WILDCATS!!!
