As a result of the devastating tornado on March 31st, the Beech Creek area is a literal disaster area. The Beech Creek Fire Hall and Community Center building has been condemned, but volunteers are still using the building as a central location for donations and information.

A successful cleanup effort overseen by Tennessee Emergency Management (TEMA) was done on Saturday, April 8th. However, there is so much more to be done! Another cleanup, this one to be conducted by the Beech Creek Volunteer Fire Department, will be this Saturday, April 15th, from 8am – 4pm. Members of the VFD are requesting chainsaw crews and draggers, skidders, backhoes, and as many volunteers as possible. The fire hall will feed all the volunteers. Everyone is asked to dress appropriately. The new telephone number for the fire hall is 931-676-6944. New hours at the fire hall are Sunday, 1-5pm, and Saturday, open at 7am.

Monetary donations for the tornado victims are being accepted at all locations of the Wayne County Bank. Specify when donating that the donation is for the Beech Creek disaster fund.
