Two Dixie Youth girls’ softball teams made up of primarily Wayne County players competed this week in the World Series in Oxford, Alabama. Both the Dixie Angels, age 9-10, and the Dixie Belles, age 15 & under, were playing in the Championship Games in their respective age groups as The News went to press yesterday. Both teams were facing off against Louisiana state teams for the title of World Series Champions.
Leading up to yesterday’s games, both teams had lost once to Louisiana, but had both defeated the Florida teams. Win or lose on Tuesday, the teams from Tennessee made a great showing and represented our great state well once again! Watch next week’s edition of The News for more photos and game results.
