When Ryleigh Stegall passed away in 2007 from leukemia, she left a lasting mark on her community of Waynesboro and beyond. The Butterfly Foundation, Ryleigh Remembered was formed that year, and the Waynesboro schools celebrated her life with the 1st Annual Ryleigh Remembered Walk. Later, all the schools in Wayne County joined in the Walk. This year will see the 17th Annual Ryleigh Walk take place on November 16 in Clifton and on November 17 in Waynesboro and Collinwood.

The Foundation aids local families who have children with life-altering conditions with monetary grants to help with the financial burden, particularly associated with travel and hospitalizations. Since 2007, the Foundation has given $1,193,230 to families of 406 children. The sale of shirts associated with the Walk is one of the fundraisers for the Foundation.

This year’s shirt logo is “Let Your Dreams Be Your Wings.” Shirts can be ordered in white or pink with blue lettering. To order a shirt, contact Dean Stegall at 931-722-5273 or 931-722-8337.  The shirts come in adult and youth sizes as a short-sleeve t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt, or a hoodie. Please order by November 2 for delivery by November 13.
