Bass fishing is a popular recreational sport in our area. Recognizing the need for a team that young people may join to learn more about bass fishing and be able to enjoy competing in tournaments, Shannon Tidwell, a long-time sports parent and active supporter of Collinwood sports teams, has organized a new bass fishing team at Collinwood High School. The Collinwood High School Bass Team will operate as an independent club of CHS, but anyone who meets eligibility requirements is welcome to be a part of the team.

The team will be a member of B.A.S.S., and will participate in Bassmaster High School tournaments on Saturdays. To be eligible to fish, each student angler must have a partner, boat, and boat captain. Boat captains must be 18 years of age, and not in high school. If you don’t have a boat, partner, or captain, you may still be a part of the team.

Boys and girls grades 2 through 12 are eligible to fish in sanctioned Bassmaster High School tournaments. Students in grades 2 through 8 fish together in the Junior Division. Students in grades 9 through 12 will fish in the High School Division.
