The Tennessee Highway Patrol has confirmed that Teresa Bratton, age 51, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, was killed in a head-on crash that occurred on Weatherford Creek Road in southern Wayne County at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14th.
The preliminary report stated that a westbound Ford pickup truck driven by Christopher Franks, age 57, of Waterloo, Alabama, crossed in to the eastbound lane of Weatherford Creek Road into the path of the vehicle driven by Bratton. When Bratton attempted to avoid Franks’ vehicle by moving into the westbound lane, Franks’ vehicle then crossed back into the westbound lane, where the vehicles collided and came to a final rest.
Bratton died from injuries sustained in the crash. Franks was transported to a North Alabama hospital for treatment of his injuries.
According to the THP report, the Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the crash.
